ENJOY THE BEAUTY OF
Ischia
Ischia is the largest of the islands in the archipelago of the Gulf of Naples, a city from which it is 18 nautical miles, and historically occupies a strategic position in the heart of the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Mediterranean, at 40-44′ north latitude and 13-55′ of east longitude. According to a legend, it was the sailors from the East who frequented these waters, who gave it the name of “ischia”, which means “to the left” because in this position they encountered it as they approached the Neapolitan port. The extension of 46.33 sq km places it in eighth place among the small Italian islands. It is a real small continent, due to the variety of climates and microclimates, favored by a very varied territory: extensive woods, pine forests, hills and mountains, among which stands Mount Epomeo (788 meters above sea level) which hide the mysterious secondary phenomena of the small volcano, and the extraordinary richness of mineral and thermal waters, which also bubble along the beaches.
